Discussion on Sliding Tabs WordPress Plugin

asile212Purchased

(yesterday I wrote a comment but today everything's disappeared...I guess there's some problems here)

Anyway...I want to know how's possible to create a custom template for dynamic sliders, in particular I want to be able to insert the full content of a post (not just the excerpt) and the custom fields of the post.

Thanks in advance :)

You can select posts but not custom fields.

Ok, thanks. But how can I create a custom template?

You can change CSS style of the selected template.

Extract slidingtabs.zip. You'll see templates folder. You can select one of the templates you'll modify.

After editing it, zip it again and unistall, re-install the plugin or copy new files into wp-content/plugins/slidingtabs folder.

In order to add custom template, you need to change PHP codes. So, changing one template CSS is easier.

Yes, I've already read in the help file how to make custom template, but I was asking about dynamic templates and how to add more variables than the ones currently available. For example content instead of excerpt and any way to add custom fields, as I really need to include them in the slider too.
Thanks

You need to do it by yourself (PHP coding). Because, I wrote it to get general fields from posts-pages.

Thanks, I've managed to include custom fields too.

I've another question: how's possible to link tabs via URL with dynamic sliders?
Basically I've a post archive page, and all this posts are "grouped" in sliders using the dynamic sliding tabs option that are displayed on a page (one dynamic slider per page). What I need is that if somebody clicks on a single post link on the archive page, it goes to the page with the dynamic slider where this single post is contained, with the tab of the single post displayed as "active".
I've tried adding a "#tab-1", "#tab-2", etc. to the page's url but it doesn't work...

I have a slider than has 10 tabs to be displayed on the left-hand side. It only displays 7 and then has the scroller arrows at the top.
Is there any way to display all 10 tabs without the scroller arrows?

Thx

John

PS: Wicked plugin btw I love it!

You need to change height value of the tabs.

When I create a new content tab in a slider, I don't get a content field. I can add a title, change the slug and add a background. But I can't add content to the tab. How can I fix this?

Can you mail me wp-admin panel info to see the problem?

I've just tried this plugin on my smartphone and it doesn't work at all despite what's written, clicking on the tab's titles doesn't display the right tab and the arrows before and after the tabs' titles doesn't work either... (n)

I'm VERY disappointed

I was working on them for a few days. I fixed them.

Please, download and re-install the plugin or copy js folder via FTP.

Ok, now it is fully responsive.

Is it possible to have an answer also to my other questions (written here and send my email in the past days)?
They're:
- how's possible to link tabs via URL with dynamic sliders?

- how's possible to put a dynamic slide inside a "regular" slide?
What I need is a regular slide with 3 tabs, one that has simple text, one with an images gallery and one with the thumbnail of a certain category of posts, that obviously will be automatically updates as soon as a new post is published in that category.

You need to write a JS code to do it after initialization of the tabs slider.

Because, it'll created after the page loaded.

flashblue flashblueAuthor

You can put each slide by copying the shortcode of it to another.

Could you just explain better please? I haven't understand anything.

You can't give anchor links to the tabs. Because, they've generated after some jQuery codes.

I using the sliding tabs with a custom template. They work fine but part of the text is cut off as if it is a scrolling layer with the overflow hidden. I need the height to adjust to whatever text is added. I have set the vertical content height to auto and now the text doesn't show at all. How can I get all the text to display?

I would like to use sliding tabs to display FAQs. It seems I can only enter a fixed pixel setting in the 'height' field. Can you please advise the setting to make the height change in response to the FAQ opening?
If this can't be done please consider for your next update.

Thanks,

You can select auto-height from settings.

I don't see a 'settings' selection to pick 'auto-height'.
-On my admin menu I see Manage, Add New, Add Dynamic and Help.
-On my admin settings menu I do not see an entry for Sliding Tabs.
-On 'Edit Sliding Tabs' I see General, AJAX, Autoplay, Tabs, Content, External Links, Rearrange Tabs.
-In the 'Help' there is no reference to 'Settings > Auto-height'.
-The 'Sliding Tabs' entry on the plugins page does not have a settings link.

Please tell me where else to look. I am out of ideas.

So how do you create nestled tabs with this wp plugin?

10 years ago
flashblue flashblueAuthor

You can create sub tab sliders at first.

Then, create a main slider and copy shortcode of sub-sliders in it.

I can help you better if you mail me.

I tried this, but it does not work or look like the demo version. In fact, by creating another slider and adding the shortcodes to make sub-sliders, it broke my page. Please assist me in making this plugin work like the nestled tab demo version.

You need to add some css styles to theme. If you send wp-admin info to flashblue80@hotmail.com I can do it.

Please consider a change to allow the tab height to change as the content in the same tab is changed.?

For example, tab 1 contains a collapsed list of site categories with only parent items listed and arrows to expand the parents. The tab displays all of the parent items and auto sizes the height to fit them when the tab content is initially rendered. If the user clicks the arrow to expand the list the tab content area height remains the same and cuts off the expanded list at the bottom as the list grows downward.

It would be great if the tabs could change height to fit content that changes in height as it is used.

Hi!
Although we checked the box "responsive" in the settings of our tabs, it is not responsive on mobile devices or smaller displays.
Are there some other things to look at to make the tabs responsive?

Thanks!

Dear flashblue,

thanks for an amazing plugin – just what I was looking for =)

But I have the same problem zignjny stated above:
collapsed elements get cut off when the are expanded because the tab content area doesn not expand with them (despite enabled auto height).

Any progress on that front? :)

flashblue flashblueAuthor

Please, set Width: 100% and Auto Height: Enabled.

Hello!

It appears that you can only type in integer values for the dimensions of the tabs. (So if you type "100%" and click update, it leaves "100", makin the tabs 100px wide.) I left the dimension fields blank, which made it 100% wide, as specified via css of the contrast skin:

div.contrast-vertical {
position: relative;
clear: both;
width: 100%;
box-shadow: 0px 0px 4px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.06);
}

And as I said: auto-height is already enabled.
So I guess both your suggestions were already in action and it doesn't work.

Btw: I wasn't referring to the post from user "Mike212" but from user "zignjny", that is the one you answered with "OK!"

Would be great if you came up with a solution for this very important functionality.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Alex

You need to write some CSS codes by yourself. It'll ve ready to responsive theme design if you set width-height parameters.

Hello.

I can't see an option for nested tabs in Wordpress...
Can you confirm that?

Thanks.

10 years ago
flashblue flashblueAuthor

You need to create them separately.

Then, copy shortcode of the nested tabs to the main tab slider.
